Hi there, again! It is the weekend in these parts. Armed with a steaming mug of tea post a short siesta, here I am at my intial attempt at blogging. It has been a very hectic week and one that just flew past. Besides work, throughout the week, in Dubai's busy forced bachelor dinner (Golf!) circles, the discussion mainly centered around the horrific Mumbai blasts. My colleague in our India (Mumbai) office- a wonderful Kiwi, who has just taken up his assignment after a great stint in HongKong is still optimistic despite the resounding welcome. However, he believes that the city should be re-christened Bomb-Bay!

Some background to the forced bachelor circuit. For the uninititated, this is the time when most expatriate families in Dubai are away on holidays. Since schools close for a good two and a half months between late June and early Sept, this provides an opportunity for the children to spend time discovering the joys of their respective motherlands. Mums, if not forced with the drudgery of a 9-5 job, tend to stay behind (India in our case) and the lesser mortals return to their posts! This period of about a month is normally spent in a lot of idle banter ( and who says men do not know how to fill up their evenings), catching up on that elusive hobby and, most of all, polishing up that Golf swing!

Friday was a decent game. Schools re-open next week and the family returns on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing all of them and to hearing their stories. The house sems far too quiet at the moment.

So here it is, I am a certified blogger...some idle banter, lots of catching up. Take care call ye out there!

P.S. After a gap of over 3 years, I am re-doing my home pages. For new-pics, watch this space!
